||HEARTBREAK HILL|| Today was our first @city2surf and it did not disappoint. I've been looking forward to this fun run for the past few months and I've been training hard to get my fitness levels up. Tom didn't do much prep leading up to the big day but still managed to finish the 14 kms with me like a champion!
We are proud to say we conquered heartbreak hill and look forward to coming back next year. Until then, a big shout out to the Rebel Warm Down Tent for helping us with our cramping post run. We spent 30 mins stretching out and it was exactly what we needed. If it wasn't for the smell of delicious snags we would have stayed longer ✌🏼🌭

Couldn’t have asked for any better running conditions! The chilly and windy weather was perfect for my first City2Surf! Absolutely awesome experience that I will 100% be doing again next year.. just over 2 hours to complete the 14km.. Took it slow and steady and took the opportunities to capture some of the stunning scenery along the way! Thankyou to everyone for your well wishes and support ! Life is full of challenges, rise above them! Being resilient isn’t about achieving all goals, it’s about adapting to circumstances to improve constantly irrespective of the goals. I set a goal 5 days into my gain cycle program to run the city to surf. The last time I’d run 14kms was a year ago. I haven’t run at all since September last year. So with 3 weeks to work on my fitness and stamina... it was on. I preregistered but was waiting for payments to clear. By the time I had enough to pay $88 for registration, the race had sold out. I called, emailed, begged but full capacity meant hands were tied. Despite having an injured foot, I managed to finish under 80 minutes for my first running event. I was aiming for 70-75 minutes when I first registered, but this damn injury happened. No excuses though - there’s always room for improvement. On the bright side, it was fun and full of good vibes. I’m also qualified to start in the sub 90 minutes starting-group next year. I’ll be aiming for 70 minutes! 😏 till next time!
