20 days into my 100 day program, and I’m feeling better than I have in so, so long.
This summer has been a complete whirlwind. I had two of the most stressful months of my entire life, and one of the results of that stress was an extra 10lbs. Stepping on the scale yesterday and seeing those extra 10lbs felt like a slap in the face. I knew I hadn’t been making the best choices nutrition wise, but had no idea how badly it affected me until yesterday.
I’ve been trying really hard not to beat myself up about the extra weight. I’ve been trying to look at the reality of what I’ve faced this summer, and remind myself that I made it. I survived the hardest summer of my whole life, and that I should be proud of myself, instead of feeling sad about 10 extra pounds.
Life happens and if you’re anything like me, sometimes you find comfort in food. What’s important is realizing that, so you can start to be more mindful of it when you find yourself making those bad choices.
I know those extra 10 pounds will come off with better choices and hard work. What matters at the end of the day, is that I am the happiest I have been in so long, and I’m feeling better than I have in months 🙌🏼

If you’re trying to lose weight you need to be in a calorie deficit - You need to burn more calories than you consume from the foods you eat.
I know it can get quite frustrating 😤 at times as it seems when you start a diet, you start craving all the foods that you should limit…
I feel like when someone says you ✘ can’t have this or that, you start focusing 🙇🏻♀️ more on what you cant have, and it makes you want it more.
You don’t need to cut out all your favourite foods you just need to be wise 🤓 in how you use your calories…
If someone gave you 💰 $1000 you wouldn’t spend it on something you didn’t really like or want 😏. You would spend it wisely 🤓 - (well I hope you would). Look at your calories the same way.
Make little tweaks that will save you calories so you can get a bang for your buck.

the concept of fb seems a little complex at first but you’ll get the hang of it pretty quickly!!
basically, food combining is a way of eating that will optimize your digestion and reduce bloating, gas and unnecessary weight gain
fruit takes only about 30minutes to digest and that’s why it is recommended to eat on an empty stomach. If combined with foods that don’t have the same digesting time (like protein or a starch) it will cause the side effects I mentioned earlier.
there are plenty of charts you can look at if you’re interested in the concept of fb and you should def check out @kenzieburke for a deeper look and more information on how to ensure an on point digestion✨

⚡️THE BEST SALAD EVER⚡️
one of the things I enjoy most is to watch yt while doing my LISS sessions on the treadmill and lately I’ve been binge watching @lanibfit videos (girl I need more)!!! in one of her vlogs, she made this loaded salad and it was all I could think of during my workout
once I’ve finished my workout I head straight to the grocery shop nearest to me and bought all the ingredients I needed in order to make this amazing salad🤩
what you’ll need is:
✨red bell pepper
✨raw unsalted cashews
✨chickpeas (seasoned with coconut oil, salt, pepper + paprika; bake for about 30minutes 450F/230C)
✨dressing: half a lid of olive oil + fresh lemon juice
just toss it all together and enjoy!!! It is filling, protein-rich and so yum!🤩 you def should make it!!!

I made this delicious chickpea-pasta recipe with steamed veggies two nights ago and it was delish!!🤩
I have been super obsessed with cooking lately and been inspired by the recipes y’all are sharing here on instagram✨ (this ones inspired by allana)
I usually tend to overeat on pasta because sticking to the recommended serving size alone never leaves me full and satisfied.
with this dish I made sure to fill my plate with lots of greens first: broccoli, spinach, peas and green beans, before adding in the recommended serving size of the chickpea pasta which was 80g💫
the greens and switching from regular- to chickpea pasta made this dinner satisfying, protein-packed and so delish!!!🤩 and it was the most filling pasta dish I ever had!!! who would have thought???

I woke up bright and early this morning to complete my first day of the bbg pre training (legs & cardio) and I must say it was much more enjoyable this time! I think the reason why it was SO hard for me last monday might actually be the sickness that hit me right after.
I started my workout with a 35minute walk on the treadmill (at 3.8mph / 6.2km/h), followed by bbg and finished off with 30minutes on the elliptical + some lower body stretches⚡️
🧡bbg= 703 active cal. / 824 total cal.🧡
I’ve wanted to try the spinning class at my gym for a long time and spontaneously decided to join them today as they started right when I finished my complete bbg-routine! spinning is actually much harder than I’ve expected - especially after leg day but I must say I enjoyed it. this might actually be a class that I’ll attend much more frequently now!💫
🧡spinning= 419 active cal. / 487 total cal.🧡
with both my bbg workout + spinning and riding my bike to and back from the gym I burned 1.455 active calories so far!! and it’s only 3.30pm🤭✨ Well that’s a good start to the week for me!!!🤩
I just came home an hour ago and didn’t feel like cooking right away, so I made one of my favorite snacks: a pink lady apple with cinnamon and 100% natural almond butter✨ so delish!!
one thing that I am curious about is whether you like to eat before the gym (and if so what) or not?
I prefer to do my workouts fasted because I just feel my best doing it this way⚡️

Finally Friday! One of my favorite topping thingamajigs are chili lime CHICKPEA SALAD CROUTONS! 🍋🔥🥗Love how they play up this hearty green salad and bring in some crunch. You can buy them or make your own. Grab the easy peasy deets below 👇🏼👇🏼#vegetarianfood #saladlove .
1 can of organic chickpeas, rinsed (15 oz)
(Pat dry with a towel, you’ll notice some may lose the skin. That’s OK. They’ll roast + crisp up even better!)🔥🔥
1/4 tsp of of sea salt
1/4 tsp of black pepper
a dash of chili powder
a dash of Tajin.🌶🌶
Juice of 1 small organic lemon 🍋
a dash of sumac
a dash of smoked paprika
1 tablespoon of extra virgin olive oil
Preheat oven to 400F and line a baking tray with parchment paper.
In a bowl, toss the chickpeas around with all the condiments & olive oil
Spread them out evenly & roast for ~20 mins. Then toss them around to change sides, sprinkle more condiments (if needed) and roast for another 8-10 mins.
