Following the drizzling pathway from Grasmere to Rydal, watching the beauty of the lake unveiling in the raindrops and light fog #BritishWeather .
I’m going to make up for my belated #earthday post by saying Earth Day is every day! Because it is. We take this planet we call home for granted way too often. Appreciate your mother. Take care of her. Change your behavior now so we can protect her for the future 🌎🌍🌏 ⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀ ⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀ ⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀ ⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀ ⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀ ⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀
Fog with friends really had a tremendous glow at the end ! ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~

What you can see here: me enjoying a mythical sunrise at a perfectly reflecting lake with a thick layer of clouds slowly moving into this magical serene scene. ✨
Not pictured: getting up at 1am after approximately 90mins of sleep, hiking 11kms with 700m elevation gain through the dark, me screaming in panic at a bird I had mistaken for a wolverine, a muddy trail, blisters on my feet, wet grass so high that everything from my shirt to my toes got completely soaked, and us almost turning around shortly before we reached the lake because the freezing wind picked up quite a lot. 🥶
And I would do it all over again, because as much as I did not wanna wake up in the morning, for moments like these followed by a hot cup of chocolate it pays off. ☕️ Easily one of my top five sunrises this year.
Quite the funny story here.
@rachel_jones_ross says “We probably won’t see a train but can wait if you’d like”.
2 min later - that loud horn is wailing and I’m not even set up yet... I hand held and shot this as a single image. I was so rushed that I felt like I could have done better with a little more time. Soooo....
Rachel says “Wow we got lucky, another probably won’t come through for hours now.”
I set up and waiting 15 more minutes. Drizzle started falling and I looked at Rachel who was ready to head back to the Airstream. I sighed and said “Ok let’s gooooo”. I picked up my tripod and took 3 steps only to hear that chug-a-lugging once again!! Another train! I had my shot all framed up and the moment I threw the soggy towel in - BAMMM! Rushed again, I set up super fast and snapped some more. The light had drastically changed from 15 min prior so I chose to post my 3rd shot I took handheld.
Btw, another train came by as we hung by the Airstream... 😆
“Streams that carry trains and foggy mountain fingers.
A carousel of dreams, indulgences that linger.
Subdued by pleasures nature grants so freely.
Experiences I live, far from anything that’s merely”.
