Being on a restricted diet for health reasons is HARD. It's not a diet for a few months, it's a lifestyle. The desires eb and flow. Most of the time you don't want to eat chemical filled garbage food because you know it makes you feel like death. But, other days, you just want to join in the fun and stuff your face with crap like everyone else. So, if you're struggling to stay on track on any kind of a diet change, stop yourself before you act and remember this:
1️⃣ Your body is trying to heal (or maintain health) and if you don't show it love and nuture it in a healthy way, no one else is going to.
2️⃣ That 🍩 or 🍕 is a short term delight with longer term discomfort and damage.
3️⃣ Ask yourself what you REALLY want. I'm guessing it's to get better, and everytime you let your body down with inflammatory foods, you're setting yourself back. Show yourself some respect. Keep pushing FORWARD toward that goal. It's going to feel way better than a piece of 🍰.
4️⃣ Prove it to yourself that you have the power to say no to that little voice in your head saying "just this once". The more you overcome that voice, the less often it will speak to you. Show it who's BOSS.
5️⃣ Be an example. By demonstrating your commitment to your health goals, you're inspiring people around you! You'll be surprised how many people will start coming to you for help and advice. It feels so good to be able to help others get healthy along with you!
Got the man to Squat Stance DL 305lbs now! 50lb PR!
We decided to stick with squat stance due to how long Alex's femurs are, and to drill not having his hips come up before his chest. Utilizing his glutes so his back doesn't take unnecessary extra load! Next cycle we will be bringing in conventional and see how much he has learned!

I get this question a lot. But here’s the thing… I went to Indianapolis last week for a Business and Leadership conference to learn how to grow my business and help my partners do the same. BUT, I also have clients that are accountable to me with their fitness goals, and I can’t disappoint them. If I skip it, I’m basically telling them it’s okay to do the same because life gets busy. ⚡️News flash: Life is always busy!⠀
That’s why we follow our app and get our workout done whenever it fits our schedule. ⠀
Last week’s schedule was insane. I was on 4 hours of sleep going from one seminar to another then to partying at night. But on this particular day that I managed to sneak in a workout (legit it was during my coffee break) I had the honour of catching up with Tony Horton, the creator of an insanely effective online fitness program called P90X. ⠀
Have you heard of it? NO? Well I can tell you that after watching so many success stories over the past few days, Tony’s programs have saved thousands of lives. THOUSANDS. I encourage you to google it. It was and still is my go to FAV program. Hands down 💯.⠀
I told him this when I first met him in Winnipeg last fall and I said it again when I saw him this time! And you know what he asked me? He asked me if I was getting ready for our newest release and obvi I told him hell yeah!⠀
Who wouldn’t want to get their workouts done in 20-30mins? 🙋🏻♀️ who wouldn’t want the guess work for meal plans done for them 🙋🏻♀️. Who wouldn’t want delicious recipes to follow and still lose weight? 🙋🏻♀️⠀

Self care means little without connection and community. It’s wired into our DNA. We literally need it to survive as infants, and it’s what allows us to thrive in our adult years. Healthy connection supports the regulation of our nervous system and creates a feeling of safety and trust. Meaningful connection takes time, and healthy connection is a consistent practice. You don’t need an army. A solid 1 or 2 people can make all the difference in the world in our sense of well being. This may be a teacher, a friend, a family member, a coach, a mentor, a therapist, or anyone else that supports you. We are not meant to do it all alone! 🔹
Regarding this quote - Gabor Mate is a brilliant physician who has extensively studied childhood development and trauma, and the ways these can impact physical and mental health. He’s also huge on the mind body connection, so he’s definitely my kinda guy! I highly recommend watching his videos on YouTube (I could listen to his voice for hours) or checking out his book “In the Realm of Hungry Ghosts” if you have particular interest in addiction. His perspectives from clinical experience “in the field,” as well as his own experiences, are really insightful.

Are you getting enough water in this heat?! If you wait to drink water until you are thirsty, you are likely already slightly dehydrated! Join the #yhnchallenge and drink at least 10 CUPS of water EVERY DAY for a week!! Choose water over sugary beverages! It is so important to our health to make a consistent habit of drinking enough water for our personal needs each day! .
I have been drinking tons of water since I’m pregnant and tend to get bored with plain old water sometimes. @spindriftfresh waters have been my “go to” for a refreshing beverage this summer to change it up! They are naturally flavored and I’m so glad a friend introduced me to these! These might even be a great option for someone trying to kick a soda habit! Anyone else a fan of these?! 🙋♀️
Here's a little infographic we made about the key differences between heat exhaustion and heat stroke. What's important to remember is heat stroke is life threatening. It means the body's temperature regulation system is shorted out and our brain cells start to die if our internal temperature reaches 42°. If you suspect heat stroke, get medical help immediately and start cooling measures.
Heat exhaustion is not life threatening BUT it can progress to heat stroke if left unmanaged. Prevent it by taking rest breaks from hot environments and staying hydrated.

Planning my meals in advance helps IMMENSELY. Having pre-made meals doesn’t just cut down on prep time every day, it allows me to SCHEDULE feedings. Yes.

That is correct. Ya gotta do what ya gotta do.
And if you too juggle a hectic schedule, chances are you find yourself missing meals, bingeing when you can and most likely wind up scrambling just to get SOMETHING in you in order to simply make it through the day.
Luckily, there is a solution; and it really doesn’t take much. • Map out a few different meals to keep your week interesting. • Whip up enough to get you through said week. (Make a night of it! Call up your fit fam and knock out some goals TOGETHER 🙌) • Pencil in “eat” during that two minute Facebook break you normally pretend you don’t take. • And invest in a fun lunchbox! (Mine is a giant reusable shopper, just shove your food in SOMETHING and go!) _____________________________________________________________
