In this week’s episode, we talk with Gemina Garland-Lewis, a photographer, EcoHealth researcher, and National Geographic Explorer about her work in the parks and how that has changed the way she experiences the parks themselves. Then, we pay a visit to the Schoodic Peninsula in Acadia National Park, a quieter part of the National Park System. Finally, we end with a look at Walnut Canyon and Montezuma Castle national monuments, which are easy day trips from Flagstaff, Arizona, that opens windows into past cultures.
After you’ve finished listening to the podcast, check out the latest articles in today’s edition, such as the Feature Story of a 3-day visit to the isolated community of Stehekin, in the Lake Chelan National Recreation Area, and an article about the Schoodic Peninsula In Acadia National Park.
Yosemite, the first National Park I ever knew
The first day of my 32nd year on this earth was pure delight. The day was filled PNW nature exploration, quality time with my love and reflection on this life. I spent much of the day “counting my blessings”, as my dad would say, and thanking the universe for dealing me such a hand. Feeling intense gratitude for everything I’ve experienced to date and looking forward to what lies ahead. Special thanks to my sweetheart @yo_navaz for making it such a wonderful day.
North Window section #Archesnationalpark#nationalpark#utah#usa beautiful natural sandstone arches are really fascinating for exploring! Only 5 miles from Moab really attracts travellers. Wonderland of red rocks are really precious!
