My name is Kayla Scutti. I'm a Christian author, wife, mother of two, Paparazzi accessories consultant, and someone who can't take pics without a filter because I hate the way I looks.

I have been on an unhealthy relationship with food and body image since I can remember. As a 90s kid, junk was all the rage and no one questioned an 8 yo eating a big mac with super sized fries. This led to high school were I took matters into my own hands and became bulimic and anorexic for years.
I finally met my loving husband and had 2 children back to back, whiched was terrible for my body, and lost myself. For the last 2 years, I have been in a whole of depression because of lifes events, and with that came eating. I am now the largest I've ever been, and ready to change it.
Here I'm hoping to show my weight loss journey and be an advocate for the women out there who feel like they cant. The ones who have given up on themselves. I'm nervous about putting nm myself out there, but I hope to encourage those who need it! Together we can do this!

I used to be soooo self conscious in a swimming suit. I was extremely hyper focused on EVERY imperfection. Growing up, if I didn’t always look my absolute best, it was pointed out. At least that’s how it felt. And it caused A LOT of insecurities. But this past year, as I have been on my health and fitness journey, I have gained soooo much self confidence. Not just from weight loss, cause I still have a ways to go. But because I have been constantly surrounded by such an uplifting tribe of women who build each other up 🙌 and encourage each other on the daily 💕. Living a healthy lifestyle is more then just eating right and working out, it’s surrounding yourself with positivity and motivation. Its creating a healthy self image no matter what stage of the journey you are in. Today, I embrace my imperfections and am comfortable in my own skin.

We get so focused on being perfect on our diets and excersize that it ultimately leads to burn out. Take a break from trying to be perfect and give yourself some credit for what you have accomplished. Strive for one small change a week, this will lead to sustainable eating habits.
Perfectionism for me leads to self punishment when I "slip up." This leads to me binging on comfort foods, which has always lead me right back where I started (sometimes worse). Once I wrapped my mind around not being perfect and focusing on small long term changes I have been able to slowly maintain a trajectory towards my goals. Telling myself this is a lifelong goal instead of a 3-6 mo goal gives me the space and grace needed to be free from diet burdens, and free of self judgement.
I am asking you to allow yourself to be free to be happy, free to accept where you are, and free to become exactly who you want to be.

Another milestone - we’re in the 30’s baby! 🎉
I’m also celebrating another win this week! Standing and walking UPRIGHT and UNASSISTED for about 15 minutes at a time after rest periods 😍😭🙌🏻
It’s not pain-free, it’s not long-lasting and my waddle is strong but it’s a step in the right direction! 👏🏻
I’ve tried a million and one things to try and recover and I’m told it’s unlikely that I will until after bub is born but I thought I’d share what has *helped* me cope in case some other unfortunate soul finds themself suffering from debilitating pelvic pain and/or SPD:
- Don’t sit for too long
- Lay down on side regularly
- No intercourse
- Use a pillow in between legs in bed
- Keep legs together
- Avoid stairs and uneven surfaces (lol jokes on me, living in a two storey!)
- Back into car and then swing body in (keeping legs together- lift them if necessary)
- Wear pelvic band when standing/walking
- Wear SRC tights at. all. times. (horrible for my disc bulge but great for SPD)
- Use crutches for short distance walks to toilet etc and wheelchair for everything else
- Don’t wait to empty your bladder
- Warm baths (need help getting in /out)
- Wear Birkenstock’s
- Sit down to get dressed
- Regular chiro visits and epic massages
- Pain killers prescribed by doctor
There’s loads more I’ve tried but I feel that the above has been most effective in managing day-to-day 🥰
