L’indice Glicemico di un alimento indica la velocità  con cui, a seguito dell’ingestione di quell’alimento, si verificherà  un innalzamento della glicemia 📈. La Glicemia indica la quantità di glucosio nel sangue, questo valore si innalzerà a seguito dell’ingestione di alimenti contenenti carboidrati, per cui prediligere un piano alimentare ricco di alimenti a “basso indice glicemico” rappresenta una strategia vincente per controllare gli attacchi di fame e mantenere una glicemia stabile.L’Indice Glicemico di un alimento può variare a causa di alcuni fattori, come: - Grado di Maturazione dell’alimento (più la frutta è matura più aumenta)
- Modalità e Tempo di cottura (aumenta con il calore)
- Contenuto in Grassi e Proteine
- Contenuto in Fibre (è bene prediligere alimenti di tipo integrale) 
Per quantificare l’indice glicemico di un alimento bisogna assumere 50gr dell’alimento preso in esame e confrontare i valori  con quelli del Glucosio.
Ad esempio se un alimento ha un IG pari a 64, significa che ingerendo 50gr di quell’alimento la Glicemia sale del 64% rispetto a ciò che avviene con 50gr di Glucosio. 
Per vedere quali sono gli alimenti a basso, medio o alto indice glicemico passare alla seconda foto ❗️❗️➡️➡️

This patient presented with pain, restriction and apprehension during elbow extension after an over extension injury at jujitsu training. There was also pain and apprehension with elbow pronation. 
A thorough assessment was completed and Myotherapy specific treatments were applied, including EMDN to the pronator teres muscle to reduce pain and restriction. 
Pronator teres (supplied by the median nerve C6-7) is a small muscle that originates from two places - the medial epicondyle of the humerus and the coronoid process of the ulna. It inserts onto the middle third of the anterolateral radius. This muscle pronates the forearm (turns palm down towards ground) and is also an elbow flexor. 
You can even see in this video that the patients forearm is slightly moving as if to try and turn the palm down (pronate forearm) which means we were right in the muscle belly of pronator teres!

Push yourself to do things you might not like... I used to hate front squats. They hurt my wrists and made my quads burn, but instead of avoiding them I pushed myself to get better. Now they are a staple of my leg day routine.

I challenge my clients to push themselves to do exercises they may usually avoid for no real reason and they see the benefits when we review their progress every month.
